The Killer

The Killer is a free, fully blind-accessible online multiplayer audio game. There are no graphics to rely on: everything is conveyed through positional sound and speech, so it plays entirely by ear with your screen reader.

Drop into a shared world with other players, fight with a huge arsenal of weapons, drive and fly powerful vehicles, take on robots, build and defend shelters, team up with friends, and earn coins to spend in the in-game store.

Yes, it is another The Killer. If you have played one before, you already know the core of this, and I am not going to pretend it is something brand new. You have seen the foundation before.

What I am actually trying to do is take it somewhere different instead of just putting up another identical copy. The game is genuinely still being worked on, and there are features here that I have not seen in any other version of The Killer:

The Mother Box, a gadget that opens instant teleport portals you and your team can travel through.
A wearable, flying combat suit with its own weapons as a true endgame item.
Crewed vehicles where passengers, not just the driver, can fire the vehicle's gun.
Attack helicopters you can launch to hunt down enemies.
A live, server-wide voting system so players help decide what changes.

What you can do

Battle other players and robots in real time.
Choose from dozens of weapons, from pistols and shotguns to snipers, launchers, and energy weapons.
Pilot vehicles: a tank, an aircraft, a police car, and the endgame combat suit, a wearable flying suit with its own weapons. Crewed vehicles seat a driver plus up to four passengers, and passengers can fire the vehicle's gun too.
Open instant teleport portals with the Mother Box, a gadget that tears a doorway in the air. Step through to be carried to a teammate, to the store, or to any spot on the map, and your team comes out healed. You can even drop one in an enemy's path as a trap.
Buy ammo, gear, and items from the store using coins you earn.
Build shelters, join teams, and climb the ranks.
Get help in game by opening a support ticket.

Download

Pick the version for your operating system. After downloading, extract the archive and run the game from the folder it creates.

Download The Killer for Windows (.zip) Right-click the downloaded file and choose "Extract All", then run the game.
Download The Killer for Linux (.tar.gz) Extract with your archive manager or run: tar -xzf tk.tar.gz
Download The Killer for Mac (.iso) Open the downloaded image, then copy the game out to update or run it.

The game also checks for updates on its own: choose "Check for updates" from the main menu at any time to see whether a newer version is available.
